*The opportunity:*
The University of Manitoba is looking for a Project Manager. This position is a pivotal role focused on designing, developing, implementing and evaluating projects, and processes to address complex strategies in alignment with the strategic academic priorities set by the Dean?s Office.
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all phases of project management within the faculty, from planning through to execution and closure. This role involves collaborating with faculty, staff, students and stakeholders to ensure that the faculty project goals are aligned with the university?s strategic objectives. Core responsibilities include organizational change, managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, leading project teams, and ensuring adherence to institutional policies. The role also entails managing and mitigating risks, communicating with stakeholders, and providing progress reports.
*The qualifications and experience we?re looking for:*
* Bachelor's Degree in Business or suitable equivalent is required.
* Formal training on project management or certificate in business analysis or suitable equivalent is required
* Prosci® change management practitioner certification or suitable equivalent would be an asset.
* Lean Green Belt certification or certificate in business analysis or suitable equivalent.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience leading business process transformation and/or organizational change with strategic and tactical contributions is required.
* Experience working in an analytical role focusing on operational improvement through process review and redesign, analysis and performance measurement.
* Experience and responsibility for all aspects of project management life cycle required.
* Experience and responsibility for all aspects of project management life cycle.
* Senior-level experience in a politically sensitive environment required.
* Experience in designing, executing and reporting projects required.
* Proven experience in leading teams required.
* Previous experience in change management, process improvement and project management principles, methodologies and tools required.
* An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
* Confidence to provide counsel to the Director and the senior administration and faculty leadership
* Demonstrated leadership ability required.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills required.
* Excellent active listening, written and oral communication skills required.
* Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations, resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
* Problem solving and root cause analysis skills required.
* Process mapping and process analysis skills required.
* Strong planning, organizing, influencing, negotiation, facilitation and decision-making skills required.
* Acute business acumen and understanding organizational issues and challenges is required.
* Strategic planning skills required.
* Strong technology skills for related duties, including diagramming software (e.g. Visio, Miro) and MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
* Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision
