Our Total Care Education provides services that can support international students to meet their Academic, Social, Emotional and Physical needs.Job Summary: <p> The Activities Advisor is responsible for providing extracurricular and weekend programming. The primary focus will be on the developing and facilitating activities and clubs; as well as, supervising weekend trips and excursions. This position is responsible for inspiring and motivating students.Responsibilities: Develop, promote and implement student workshops, clubs and activities<p> Participate in weekend programs and supervise student trips. <p> Counselling students toward earning their Duke of Edinburgh Award.<p> Assisting with a variety of special programs (DECA, Robotics, Elite Pathway Program, Model United Nations)<p> Facilitate a variety of different overnight camping trips <p> Assist in the planning and developing of large-scale school events: such as, Terry Fox Run, Prom 30 Hour Famine etc. <p> Assist with the implementation and delivery of the schools Athletic Intramural Program <p> Oversee the safety and well-being of students during programing.<p> Modify and adjust activities when unforeseeable circumstances arise.<p> Being able to promote a well-balanced approach to life in regards to Academic, Social, Emotional, and Physical wellbeing. <p>Qualifications: Post-secondary education<p> Proven experience in facilitating or directing recreation activities, or a combination of work experience in a youth camp.<p> Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)<p> First aid and CPR certification is an asset <p> Coaching certification is an asset<p> Outdoor education / camping experience an asset<p> Lifeguard certificate is an asset <p>Hours of Work: Required to work flexible hours (Days, Evenings, Weekends) <p>Columbia International College is committed to workplace diversity and provides accommodations, whenever possible, to applicants with disabilities throughout our hiring process.
