Posting Number: T24-350<p>Date Issued: September 11, 2024POSITION <p>Worksite : Strathcona Elementary School<p>Contract Type: Temporary, Part-Time 60% Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday<p>Assignment Area(s): Primary Kindergarten<p>Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement) <p>Effective Date: October 1, 2024 until not later than June 30, 2025<p>Please Note: The assignment within this position may not be identical to the assignment in this posted position.<p>Deadline for Applications: September 19, 2024 12:00 pm<p>Electronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 supervisors who can comment on your teaching.Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: <p>extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment <p>knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment<p>Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators. <p>successful experience with planning and teaching primary students; teaching experience with kindergarten is an asset<p>demonstrated ability to plan for and teach all required subjects at this grade level, to effectively address the academic and social/emotional learning needs of a diverse group of students<p>experience with differentiating instruction and utilizing methods for targeting instruction selecting and adapting instructional materials to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of a diverse group of students<p> knowledge of and proven experience in using current assessment practices to inform and guide instruction<p> proven ability to create a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment that promotes the success of all learners<p> demonstrated knowledge and proven success with effective classroom management<p> commitment to implementing all aspects of the Code of Conduct and Behaviour Matrix<p> knowledge and demonstrated ability in teaching a well-balanced literacy program utilizing sound teaching practices exemplified in SMART learning, the ACT, Reading/Writing Power and Write Traits<p> knowledge and demonstrated ability in teaching a well-balanced numeracy program, including the use of the districts S.N.A.P assessment<p>demonstrated ability to support school and district initiatives to provide meaningful learning experiences for students including Project Based, STEM and/or Place Based Learning<p>experience with implementing of high impact instructional strategies<p>knowledge and demonstrated experience with First Peoples Principle of Learning, differentiating instruction and use of proven Social-Emotional Learning/Self-Regulation approaches (Calm, Alert & Learning, Mind Up, Strong Kids, Zones of Regulation) are preferred<p>demonstrated ability using technology in instruction to enhance student engagement for a wide range of abilities<p>proven ability as an effective team member working collaboratively with colleagues and administration and/or leading school-wide initiativesFor Further Information Contact: Michael Kotanko, Principal or Scott Fiddes, Vice-Principal 604-792-5646
