*Job Purpose & Responsibilities:*
This is a *permanent, full-time position* for an Engineering Technologist within the Infrastructure Services Department.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Technologist will be responsible for:
* The coordination and engineering inspection of municipal capital projects and development as it relates to roads, sewers, water mains, and facilities.
* Reviewing preliminary and detailed design drawing submissions.
* Handling inspections and enforcement of municipal development infrastructure installations,
* Assisting the Transportation Services and Environmental Services Departments with troubleshooting infrastructure related issues.
* Collecting infrastructure data for the City?s geographical information system (GIS).
* Preparation and/or coordination of municipal infrastructure planning reports, implementing detailed analysis of existing and proposed infrastructure, as well as compiling and maintaining the City?s record drawings and infrastructure reports.
*This position is 35 hours per week. *
*Qualification/Competencies:*
* Post-secondary Diploma in a Civil Engineering Technology Program.
* Ability to qualify for and obtain the Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation.
* 1-3 years? experience in managing infrastructure projects.
* Computer training in GIS and Auto Cad.
* Strong verbal and written skills.
* In-depth knowledge of current and proposed engineering design and operating standards of surveying.
* This position also requires a valid Class 5 Driver?s license and annual Driver?s Abstract.
* Previous experience in a municipal or other government setting, is an asset.
Salary for this position is $42.98/hr.
