The assignment within this position may not be identical to the assignment as indicated in this posting.<p>2. Due to the specialized nature of this position, the successful applicant, if currently a continuing appointee with Chilliwack School District, may be "seconded" to this position thereby having the assurance to return to his/her former position.<p>Deadline for Applications: Friday, September 20, 2024 - 12:00 pm<p><p>Electronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of two (2) current supervisors who can comment on your teaching.<p><p>Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:<p> ? Extensive academic training and post graduate coursework in the following areas: students with special needs; assessment/testing theory and practice (Level B); strategies for adapting and modifying curriculum.<p>? Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education?s current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as outlined in the Manual of Policies, Procedures and Guidelines for Special Education Services.<p>? Demonstrated experience and ability in being able to carry out a variety of assessments, including classroom observation, curriculum based assessment and diagnostic teaching methods, administration and interpretation of Level B Assessments including the WIAT, PPVT, Key Math and TOWL.<p>? Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of methods for evaluating and selecting instructional materials suitable for students with a variety of special needs and learning disabilities.<p>? Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of IEPs in consultation with the classroom teacher(s), parent(s), student and district personnel.<p>? demonstrated experience and ability in being able to carry out a variety of assessments, including classroom observation, curriculum-based assessment and diagnostic teaching methods, administration and interpretation of Level B Assessments including the WIAT, PPVT, and Key Math as well as the newest KLST <p>? demonstrated experience in and knowledge of methods for evaluating and selecting instructional materials suitable for students with a variety of special needs and learning disabilities<p>? knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of CBIEPs in consultation with the classroom teacher(s), parent(s), student and district personnel<p>? training, experience and qualifications working in an elementary Learning Assistance assignment, including effective small group Tier 2 and 3 support<p>? elementary classroom teaching experience and knowledge of the K-5 curricular outcomes, including awareness of and experience working with the First Peoples Principles of Learning <p>? knowledge of and demonstrated ability in addressing the wide range of academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs of children<p>? demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills <p>? demonstrated experience and working knowledge of MyEd and eINSIGHT<p>? commitment to the philosophy of Collaborative Teaming, including a willingness to chair and coordinate School Based Team/Care Team meetings <p>? knowledge and proven ability in effective classroom management and excellent organization skills<p>? commitment and willingness to implement PBS and school-wide initiatives that s
