* *This is a temporary position - term Oct 14, 2024 to Nov 2025*
_To assist individual in developing life skills, fostering independence, and engaging in community activities to enhance their quality of life and social inclusion._
*Key Responsibilities*: Support Community Participation- Help individuals engage in social, recreational, and community activities, such as volunteering, sports, arts, or attending local events of their choice. Skill Development: Assist with the development of life skills, such as communication, budgeting, and time management, to foster greater independence.- Individualized Support Plans: Work with individuals to develop and follow personalized support plans tailored to their goals, interests, and needs.- Transportation Assistance: Provide or arrange transportation to enable participation in activities and community engagement.-
*Advocacy*: Support individuals in advocating for their rights and accessing community services and resources.- Collaboration: Work closely with families, caregivers, and other support professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.-
*Documentation:* Maintain accurate records of services provided, progress notes, and outcomes.-
*Training & Safety*: Ensure that the individual?s environment is safe and that any necessary health and safety protocols are followed.
*Qualifications*:- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or diverse needs.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.- Understanding of social inclusion principles and person-centered approaches.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Basic first aid and CPR certification .
*Skills*:- Empathy and patience.- Problem-solving and critical thinking.- Adaptability and creativity in addressing challenges.- Organizational and time management abilities
*Work Environment*:- The role may involve working in community settings, individuals' homes, or group settings.- Some physical tasks may be required depending on the individual's support needs. This job aims to enhance the independence and social connections of individuals who may otherwise face barriers to inclusion, promoting a more integrated community.
1. This position requires use of a cell phone.
2. Valid First Aid and CPR certificates.
3. Current and negative Mantoux (TB) test.
4. Valid, current and clear Criminal Record Check completed by CRRA.
5. Good general health and physically able to perform the duties of the job. (Doctor's certification required 14 days prior to commencement of employment)
6. Signed Agency's Statement of Confidentiality
7. Signed statement acknowledging that you have read and understood the agency abuse policy.
8. Signed statement acknowledging you have read and understood the anti-bullying/Harassment policy
9. Qualifications required for specific position noted above.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $26.83-$29.76 per hour
