To do that, we employ qualified, competent, andcaring individuals who are dedicated to their professions.Job SummaryNL Health Services Eastern zone invites expressions of interest for two GeneralPractitioners Oncology (GPO) ? Full-Time within the central site (Grand Falls andGander) of the Cancer Care Program. The Physician will work primarily in the outpatient cancer clinic and will be responsiblefor medical management of patients receiving cancer care. Hours of work are normally0800-1700 but may vary according to patient care needs. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: ? Function within the scope of practice of a General Practitioner in Oncology toprovide service to the Cancer Care Program in the central health zone. ? Handling of urgent or emergent situations in the chemotherapy areas, such ashypersensitivity reactions to chemotherapy ? Provide individualized direct and indirect patient care.? Work Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, usually between 800-1700, but mayvary depending on patient needs.? Use and regularly monitor a healthy authority email account.? The GPO will also be encouraged to attend and participate in appropriateeducational and academic activities within the Cancer Care Program, includingOncology Grand Rounds, and Cancer Tumour Board Rounds. Participation incontinuing professional development is encouraged. Eligible candidates must be able to obtain and maintain license to practice with theCollege of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.Hours of work: 75 hours bi-weekly0800 ? 1700 hours - may vary according to patient needs orneeds of the service to best utilize the time of the incumbent. Remuneration: Salary and benefits for this position are to be paid in accordancewith the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador.
