Job Description Temporary Full-time 01 October 2024, with possible extension Nurse Practitioner - Family/All AgesSt. Georges Medical Clinic, St. Georges, NLThe Nurse Practitioner is part of an interdisciplinary team responsible for multiple services based on the need of the population of the Western Region with primary responsibility to the St. Georges Health Neighbourhood. These services include, but are not limited to, Primary Health Care, acute care, emergency/fast track and long-term care. This can include the provision of services in a variety of settings and methods including in person visits, virtual care, and visits in patients' homes including within personal care homes. Please note that while this position will be assigned a primary location, the incumbent will be required to travel throughout the designated service area providing Nurse Practitioner services. Mileage and appropriate per diems will be paid in accordance with the RNUNL Collective agreement. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador, graduation from an approved School of Nursing and successful completion of the Nurse Practitioner Program are required. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of competency in organizational, leadership, interpersonal, team building, communication, decision making and computer skills through an interview process. The successful candidate should possess considerable clinical experience in the care of the older adult population. Certification with the Canadian Nurses' Association in Gerontological Nursing is preferred. In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Nurse Practitioner License, but are qualified to enroll in an approved Master in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner (MN/NP) program. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment upon appointment and provide updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.*A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.Please note: Use of a private vehicle is a condition of employment.Please contact the Human Resources Department regarding a $5,000 sign on bonus for this position.
