When you work at NBCC, you are a valued team member and a part of a community of leaders who are driven by learning excellence and social and economic development.Position Type: RegularLocation: MonctonSalary: $45,344 per annumResponsibilitiesReporting to the Facilities Manager, Facilities and Ancillary Services, the Custodian is responsible for ensuring the care of the NBCC buildings and related grounds of the Moncton campus.In this role, your responsibilities will include:Mopping, scrubbing, waxing and polishing floorsGarbage disposalCleaning washrooms and replacing suppliesMoving heavy furniture and equipmentOpening and closing buildings, readying premises for staff, students, and facility usersSetting up classrooms and meeting rooms to specificationsPerforming maintenance such as cutting grass, shoveling snow, and cleaning walkwaysStripping floorsLight and in-depth cleaning and sanitizing, of offices, classrooms and common areasOther duties as requiredRegular hours of work are based on a 40- hour work week. Additional overtime and weekend work may be required. This position may require shift work.These job duties represent only the basic duties of the job. Related and allied duties may be assigned as they become necessary to the operation of NBCC. Employees must have basic computer skills including word processing, email and data entry.QualificationsEducation and Experience:The completion of high school or GED with related work experience.Preference will be given to candidates who have a minimum of three (3) months of recent and related experience.Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.Professional Skills:Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and innovative thinking.Self-motivated, service and results oriented.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.A desire for continuous learning and growth.Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License as travel will be required.Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment.Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent.
