Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Pharmacy (PharmD, BS, BSc, BPharm). Work setting: Community or retail pharmacy. Tasks: Advise customers on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage. Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals. Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies. Advise customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication. Check prescriptions for proper dosage. Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients. Manage the storage, packaging and distribution of medicinal products . Leading/instructing individuals. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Fast-paced environment.
