Responsibilities
Tasks

Install and overhaul heating systems
-
Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems

Troubleshoot heating systems
-
Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components
-
Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment

Provide customer service
-
Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices
-
Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system
-
Interpret gas codes
-
Handle, recover and store refrigerants
-
Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems

Test and replace defective equipment or components
-
Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment

Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems

Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment
