Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Dangerous. Odours. Outdoors. Confined spaces. Underground. Wet/damp. Work setting: Urban area. Remote location. Willing to relocate. Tasks: Assist in environmental audits. Conduct geological, geophysical, geochemical, hydrographic or oceanographic surveys, prospecting field trips, exploratory drilling, well logging or underground mine survey programs. Design measures to minimize undesirable environmental effects of mining and oil and gas operations. Perform clerical duties, such as maintain filing and record systems. Prepare rock, mineral or metal samples. Supervise the preparation of rock, mineral or metal samples. Assist in preparing rock, mineral or metal samples. Prepare notes, sketches, geological maps and cross sections. Plan, direct and participate in analyses of geological, geochemical and geophysical survey data, well logs and other test results, maps, notes and cross sections. Oversee the preparation of site plans, reports and land use studies. Organize geological, geochemical and geophysical field studies, drilling and geological testing programs.
