*SUMMARY:*
The Human Resources (HR) Officer serves as the key support pillar of the Human Resources Department, this is a great opportunity for the right candidate to grow and/or expand their HR capabilities in a busy and positive setting. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources and working closely with the Relief Staffing Manager, the HR Officer plays a critical role within the HR Department. The HR Officer?s areas of responsibility will include a full range of Human Resources functions, including, but not limited to support, collaboration, and coordination for: HRIS Implementation and Management, Labour Relations, Employee Relations, Recruitment and Staffing, Compensation (including Benefits and Pension), Organizational Reports, HR Data and Metric Building, Health and Safety, and Employee Wellness, in addition to other initiatives that will further serve our amazing staff and all the great work they do here to support individuals in the community.
The HR Officer will join in key strategic and operational discussions and decisions on human resources issues, priorities, systems, processes, performance indicators, and budgets. We are the midst of redesigning the HR function here at OCAPDD, so the timing is great to join this team for someone with an interest to grow and expand their career by working with a small but mighty team of like-minded professionals.
*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:*
As part of this role, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
* Support Implementation, manage, and administer HRIS and other databases, as necessary;
* Provide administrative support and coordination on a wide variety of HR Functions, including, but not limited to: Benefits and Pension, WSIB, Onboarding, as well as managing the HR Mailbox alongside the HR Manager in order to provide high quality client service to OCAPDD employees;
* Work closely and collaboratively with the HR Team to Research, Drive and Lead various Human Resources Programming initiatives;
* Participate and contribute to the establishment and monitoring of HR initiatives and metrics;
* Work collaboratively with the Relief Staffing Manager to manage training activities for personnel, as well as create accurate and current reports;
* Coordinate and support meetings, as the Employer representative, with various internal and external stakeholders;
* Participate in and accurately document various Committee meetings;
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and other Departments to create a variety of policies and procedures for the organization;
* Work with colleagues and reports to compile various reports on a variety of HR matters to ensure informed decision making and accurate record keeping;
* Coordinate activities with Finance (Payroll) as required;
* Support the construction and evolution of HR practices and processes to ensure they serve all stakeholders well;
* Communicate with staff and external parties on various matters in a timely manner;
* Provide direction, mentoring, training, support and feedback to direct reports;
* Participate in regular professional development activities; and,
* Other duties as required.
*REQUIREMENTS:*

* University degree in a related field (e.g., Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Commerce); or, additional experience in lieu of a university degree not directly related.
* A minimum of one (1) to (3) years? experience at the HR Officer/Administrator/Assistant Position(or equivalent) or higher level;
* Proven knowledge and demonstrated experience in standard areas of HR practice, such as: HRIS Implementation and Implementation, Labour and Employee Relat
