*Job Summary*
We are looking for an experienced *Accounting Clerk* to join our Accounting team in the development, build, and sale of the world?s best SCUBA diving computers and other mission critical diving electronics.
The Accounting Clerk is responsible of providing assistance to the Controller in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial operations.
*Responsibilities and Duties*
*KRA 1: Accounts Payable: *
* Verify invoices thru matching with packing slips received from Shipping and Receiving Department and the related Purchase Order.
* Verify credit card transactions by checking against the related Invoice and Non-Inventory and Engineering Purchase Order as per the Tracking Worksheets.
* Verify employee expense report received against the supports ie. Receipts, invoices, etc. Make sure that the claim is approved by the Department Manager.
* Ensure that all the transactions comply with company policies and procedures.
* Prepare batches of invoices for data entry to BC and enter invoices for payment and weekly cheque runs
* Post the entries for payments made thru wires.
*KRA 2: Accounting Reporting:*
* Post the required Journal Entries affecting cash as shown in the Bank Statements.
* Prepare bank and credit card accounts reconciliations.
* Prepare and maintain Prepaid Expenses Worksheets and related supports.
* Conduct PST Self-assessment review and prepare related worksheets and pass the required Journal Entry.
* Prepares analyses and supports requested by auditors during the year-end audit.
* Maintain updated vendor files and cheque mail drops
*Key Skills and Qualifications:*
*Must Have:*
* Managing accounts payable. Accounts receivable an asset
* Receiving and recording cash and cheques
* Producing a variety of reports including expense and GL. Reconciliation analysis experience an asset
* Checking for accuracy in reports, figures, and postings
* Managing transactions for cash and cheques with banks
* Experience using bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets, and software such as Microsoft Excel
*Important Experience:*
* 2 years of accounts payable experience in a corporate environment. Cost accounting or Manufacturing experience an asset.
* Postsecondary education, such as a certificate program or associate degree or equivalent experience
*Personal Competencies:*
* Interacting with all levels of staff, management, customers, and vendors
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to complete a high volume of work within deadlines
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
* Good problem-solving skills
* Excellent knowledge of basic accounting concepts
* Strong attention to detail
*Salary Range*
Career Band 1: $43.6k-$70k
