Our Vancouver office is seeking an *experienced Real Estate Conveyancer / Legal Assistant / Law Clerk* to join our team *immediately*.
*Position Overview*:
We are looking for a *detail-oriented, proactive* individual with a minimum of *2 years of real estate conveyancing experience*. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage real estate transactions from start to finish, including purchases, sales, lender refinances, private borrowing, and lender representation transactions. *This is a time-sensitive position, and we need someone who can step in and hit the ground running right away.*
*Key Responsibilities*:
* *File Management*: Open and manage real estate transaction files, ensuring all documents are prepared, accurate, and ready for closing.
* *Client Communication*: Professionally communicate with clients, realtors, brokers, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transactions.
* *Document Preparation*: Draft, review, and proofread conveyancing documents, including title searches, mortgage instructions, and strata forms.
* *Due Diligence*: Conduct thorough reviews of title searches, tax certificates, and strata information, ensuring there are no issues affecting the transaction.
* *Electronic Filings*: Make filings with the BC Land Title Office (myLTSA) and other relevant agencies, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
* *Trust Reconciliation & Accounting*: Prepare trust reconciliations and manage transactions through our accounting software.
* *Team Support*: Mentor and support junior team members, sharing your expertise to ensure a collaborative work environment.
*Qualifications*:
* *Minimum 2 years* of experience in real estate conveyancing, managing files from start to finish.
* Proficiency with conveyancing software such as *ProSuite* and *eConveyance*.
* Strong knowledge of BC Land Title procedures, myLTSA, BC Registries, and Online Services.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
* Strong attention to detail, especially when reviewing legal documents and financial figures.
* Experience in mentoring and supporting team members is an asset.
