Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Inspect operation of instruments and systems
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Repair and adjust system components
  • Complete test and maintenance reports
  • Remove and replace defective parts
  • Calibrate components and instruments
  • Logical approach for troubleshooting
  • Determine testing and maintenance procedures
  • Install new measuring instruments
  • Coach and instruct apprentices
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work

Credentials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses 

  • Industrial Instrument Mechanic Trade Certification
  • Instrumentation and Control Technicians (Red Seal)
