Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hot. Outdoors. Work setting: Rural area. Staff accommodation provided. Tasks: Treat livestock health issues. Work with honey bees. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain quality control and production records. Maintain work records and logs. Perform general farm duties. Supervision: 3-4 people. Apiary and honey harvesting experience: Apiary management. Detect bee diseases . Honey farm. Manage a set of measures designed to protect a beekeeper's honey bees from the entry and spread of pests. Oversee the honey extraction. Treat bees with antibiotics . Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Screening questions: Are you available for the advertised start date?.
