Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Child care centre. Elementary school. Tasks: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. Synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents. Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity. Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts. Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor. Establish guidelines for behaviour. Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Emergency child care first aid and CPR. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Immunization records. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Manual dexterity. Personal suitability: Punctuality.
