Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders). Work setting: Group home. Social service or charity agency. Tasks: Prepare reports or case histories. Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services. Perform administrative tasks. Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs. Housekeeping activities. Food preparation. Provide suicide and crisis intervention. Resolve conflict situations. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Implement behaviour management programs. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Manage events. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Developmental services worker (DSW) Training. Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic mail.
