Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Analyze market research data to improve business decisions or activities
  • Conduct economic or commercial surveys to identify potential markets for products or services
  • Direct the marketing strategies of establishments
  • Direct the team on crucial information they should gather and research
  • Establish distribution networks for products and services
  • Evaluate communication strategies and programs
  • Review written material, such as reports, briefs, speeches, presentations and press releases
  • Supervise staff
  • Train staff
  • Hire, train, direct and motivate staff
  • Plan and control budget and expenditures
  • Direct and evaluate establishments and departments that develop and implement communication strategies and information programs
  • Direct and evaluate establishments and departments that maintain media relations on behalf of businesses, governments and other organizations
  • Direct and evaluate establishments and departments that publicize activities and events on behalf of businesses, governments and other organizations
  • Act as spokesperson for an organization
  • Advise clients on advertising or sales promotion strategies
  • Prepare and/or deliver educational, publicity and information programs, materials and sessions
  • Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support
  • Supervise office and volunteer staff
  • Develop sponsorship, partnership or fundraising programs
