Responsibilities
Tasks

Conduct initial dental assessments

Consult with dentists on patient care

Instruct patients regarding oral hygiene

Clean and stimulate the gums to prevent gum disease

Apply fluoride treatment

Remove stains and deposits from teeth

Administer local anesthetics

Take, develop and mount X-rays
Credentials
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses

Dental Hygienists Licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial governing body
