The HVAC Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement process for HVAC equipment and supplies. This role involves processing purchase orders, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring inventory levels meet the needs of the sales department.
*Main Duties and Responsibilities:*
*1. Purchase Order Processing:*
· Process vendor purchase orders (POs) as requested by the sales department or based on stocking requirements.
· Enter order details accurately into the procurement system.
*2. Vendor Management:*
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure optimal pricing and service.
· Communicate regularly with vendors regarding order status, product availability, and pricing changes.
*3. Record Maintenance:*
· Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
· Ensure documentation is up to date for auditing and reporting purposes.
*4. Working Knowledge of Inventory Reporting:*
· Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and vendor performance.
· Use forecasting tools to monitor stock levels and predict future inventory needs.
*5. Pricing Management:*
· Update pricing information as required to reflect market changes or vendor agreements.
· Analyze pricing trends to ensure competitiveness.
*6. Negotiating:*
· Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to achieve the best pricing.
*7. Coordinate Deliveries:*
· Coordinate deliveries with the shipping and receiving department to ensure timely arrival of goods.
· Collaborate with shipping and receiving departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues with shipments.
*8. Inventory Management:*
· Monitor and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
· Implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock management.
*Qualifications:*
* Completed Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business, or a related field preferred.
* Proven experience in buying or purchasing in a commercial/industrial/wholesale environment (preferably in the HVAC industry).
* 3-5 Years experience in a similar role
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management software.
* Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
* Detail-oriented, task-oriented, and deadline-driven.
* Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
*Additional Requirements:*
* Working in the office environment for 5 days a week.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
