Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Hot. At heights. Work setting: Warehouse. Equipment operation. Retail/wholesale establishment/distribution centre. Tasks: Load and off-load machines. Notify supervisor or mechanic of equipment malfunctions. Cut fabric or layers of fabric to specifications. Push carts, trucks or cans of fibres from one work area to another. Clean machines and immediate work areas. Adjust cutting technique to type of fabric and style of garment. Wrap goods. Pick orders and stock. Organize inventories using computerized inventory control systems. Operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials and products. Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment. Make labels and attach to goods. Pack and unpack goods. Organize and maintain inventory. Supervision: No supervision responsibility. Type of materials: Textiles and leather. Equipment and machinery experience: Manual fabric knives or cutters. Spinning frames. Manual cutting knives. Dollies and hand trucks. Pallet lifters. Vehicle and equipment experience: Radio frequency scanners (RFS). Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail.
