Skyway Canada is seeking an experienced *Industrial Painter *to be based out of our shop in Edmonton, Alberta but some field work when required. The successful candidate will be responsible for General understanding/use of industrial paints and equipment. Skyway provides comprehensive planning, design, project management, material, equipment, and labour for the delivery of Access Scaffolding, Insulation & Abatement, Fireproofing & Painting, Rope Access & Technical services, as well as specialized swing-stage, shoring, safety fence and other construction products for the commercial and industrial construction & maintenance industry in Canada. If you?re looking to make a difference ? join Skyway as our *Industrial Painter.* *Responsibilities* · Demonstrated ability to successfully apply coatings using Airless Spray Systems in a timely manner · Prepping of substrate (masking, sanding, wiping, blowing down, etc) · General understanding of industrial paints and equipment · Understand and adhere to corporate quality and safety management systems · Proper mixing of 2 component and 3 component paints · Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance when necessary. · Performs all duties in accordance Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code. · Keeping Shop and work area clean · Behave in a professional manner with a high degree of respect for self, co-workers and clients · Report to the Foreman any obstacles found *Training* · MINIMUM 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE coating in an industrial environment · Experience operating an Overhead Crane, Tractor/Trailer, Forklift and/or Zoom Boom for loading and unloading materials considered an asset · Experience with inorganic and organic zincs, epoxies, mastics, urethanes, polysiloxanes, internal linings and coating and 100% solids considered and asset. · CSTS-2020 · WHMIS 2015 · First Aid is an asset · AIT apprentices accepted *Physical Requirements:* · Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift · Frequent climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting · Able to do physically demanding work · Required to lift up to 50 lbs. · Must be able to wear a respirator · Must be able to work in tight spaces · Use of ladders *Other Requirements:* · Must have access to reliable transportation · Punctual, reliable, and able to work collaboratively with others · Ability to speak and write in the English language · Organized and detail oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision · Some overtime as required · Union position · Pension and Benefits provides · Afternoon shift (3:30pm-12am) and Night shift (11:00pm-7:30pm) offered. · Sunday - Thursday Skyway gives you the training, the challenges, and the opportunity to take your career to new heights.
