Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Work setting: Manufacture. Marine. Installation. Fabrication. Construction. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC). Determine weldability of materials. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Install door, window and other hardware. Verify accuracy and completeness of data. Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Type of materials: Aluminum alloys. Composite materials. Stainless steel. Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: TIG. MIG. Equipment and machinery experience: Gas welding machine. Welding. Polishing machines. Area of work experience: Metal cutting.
