*Job description:* *Family Medicine Physician in Fredericton, New Brunswick* *Location:* Region 3 - Fredericton and Upper River Valley Community: Fredericton Facility: Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital *Position Description:* Horizon Health Network is seeking Family Physicians to establish a new practice or take over (fully or partially) an existing practice in the Greater Fredericton region. Opportunities exist in either solo or group practice, in a fee for service environment. Family physicians establishing a full time community based primary care practice in the Greater Fredericton region, provide comprehensive family medicine services to patients and participate in the on call rotation of the Department of Family Practice at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital through one of the call groups. *Employer:* Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is proud of its dedicated team of health care professionals who are focused on delivering safe and quality care to our patients, clients, families and communities. Horizon has an annual budget of approximately $1.2 billion and has more than 13,000 employees, 1,100 physicians and 1,300 volunteers, as well as 17 foundations, 12 auxiliaries and 8 alumnae organizations. *Job Duties:* * Provide family-centered primary care in the community for all age groups and genders. * Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and other allied medical staff. * Provide in-patient hospital care (dependent on facility). * Participate in after hours on-call coverage in coordination with other medical staff ensuring provisions are made for continual coverage of patient caseload during times when you are absent from your practice. * Participate in medical practice that is compatible with the Health Authority?s mission, values, and strategic directions. * The Department of Family Medicine encourages its members to participate in the Dalhousie University School of Medicine-affiliated training program, the Memorial University School of Medicine Postgraduate Program, and Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick's undergraduate education program. Information on academic positions is available upon request. Physicians are also invited to participate in the research program. *Qualifications:* * A Medical Degree from a recognized medical school and postgraduate studies in the field of Family Medicine is required. * Must hold a valid license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick. * Must be a member in good standing with the College of Family Physicians of Canada, with certification or actively pursuing certification. * Must have current malpractice insurance from the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) appropriate to the category of practice. * ACLS preferred. * Proficiency in English is required. Bilingual skills would be considered an asset. * Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills. * Good attendance and work record. * Physically able to perform assigned duties. * Comply and keep up to date with CFPC CME annual requirements. * Comply with the policies and procedures of the Department of Family Practice. * Comply with the provisions of the Hospital Act, the Regional Health Authorities Act, the Medical Services Payment Act, and their regulations. * Comply with the Health Authority bylaws, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures. * Follow the Code of Ethics of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick * Your detailed CV must b- LocationFredericton, NB
