Indspire is seeking an HR Manager to lead the HR team and the overall provision of related services, policies, programs and support to Indspire. This includes recruitment, training and development, performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The HR Manager will work closely with the leadership team to build the capacity necessary for the achievement of organizational goals and objectives. The HR Manager is process-oriented with a people-centric focus to support and facilitate effective employment relationships while championing a supportive, inclusive, and culturally respectful workplace.
*Key Responsibilities*
- Providing HR support to management and staff to facilitate effective workplace relationships.
- Ensuring that HR policies and practices align with applicable legislation, Indspire needs and values, and best practices.
- Developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain a diverse and qualified workforce.
- Overseeing the full recruitment cycle including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Overseeing the onboarding process to ensure new employees are well-integrated into the organization.
- Championing a healthy and inclusive work environment.
- Ensuring that management and staff are equipped to address concerns and to resolve conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
- Promoting effective communication between staff and management.
- Directing and overseeing the development and implementation of performance management systems and processes.
- Supporting managers in conducting performance evaluations and setting development goals.
- Supporting managers in addressing accommodation requests effectively.
- Identifying training needs and develop activities and programs to build capacity to enhance knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Overseeing the coordination and delivery of training sessions, workshops, and other development initiatives.
- Supporting leadership development and succession planning activities.
- Overseeing the effective administration of the compensation and benefits programs.
- Providing guidance to employees on benefits and retirement plans.
- Overseeing the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures.
- Championing best practices in HR management.
- Ensuring accurate and secure employee records management.
- Preparing HR reports (i.e. metrics) and recommendations for leadership review.
- Managing the HR budget and resources effectively.
- Ensuring confidentiality related to all activities and information of a strategic or sensitive nature.
*Other Job Requirements*
- Satisfactory background check results including criminal record and vulnerable sector searches.
- Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Travel between Six Nations and Toronto offices is required.
*Qualifications*
- Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CHRP or CHRL designation preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience.
- Direct experience in Indigenous organizations and/or communities is preferred.
- Working knowledge of and experience in interpreting and applying labour and employment legislation in the workplace.
- Advanced communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proven skills with a variety of software packages; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and HRIS systems.
- Able to prioritize and deal with multiple projects, changing priorities, and deadlines.
