Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: On-site customer service. Commercial. Residential. Tasks: Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning oil burners, and their components and controls. Test installed unit and adjust controls for proper functioning. Perform scheduled maintenance and service. Install oil burner components and connect to fuel supply, ventilation and electrical system. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Trade Certification. Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Red Seal Certificate. Type of heating system: Oil. Equipment and machinery experience: Cad cell. Burners. Oil primary control. Pumps. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots.
