JOB POSTING MISC 24/25-14 Division Services Centre <p>Temporary Division Psychologist <p>Full-Time - 35 hours per week<p>(Part-Time hours will be considered based on the availability of the successful candidate)Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools is located on the original lands of the Cree, those of Treaty 6, and on the homeland of the Mtis nation. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates.<p>Duties to Commence: Immediately until June 27, 2025 with the possibility of extension beyond this school year. <p>Position Description: This position is connected to the Mental Health in Schools Pilot grant from the Government of Alberta, designed to support the mental health needs for students in the Division. This position has been designed to provide leadership and guidance for psychoeducational assessments, and to support the implementation of recommendations at the school level. In addition, this position will have opportunities to build capacity among staff, by developing and leading professional learning opportunities for each employee group teachers, educational assistants, school leaders, teacher-counsellors, and other support staff groups. This position will also develop and implement researched based strategies to address the mental health needs of students throughout the Division. The successful candidate must be a registered psychologist, demonstrate leadership qualities and have formal training and/or experience in providing social/emotional support for school aged children and adolescents.<p>This position will be based out of St. Albert and the successful candidate will be required to travel to all 17 school sites in our Division communities St. Albert, Morinville, and Legal. In addition, there will be occasional need for flexibility in the hours of work (before/after school hours or in the evening and possible weekends).<p>Qualifications: Masters degree in counselling/psychology with a current Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)<p> Experience with completed and debriefing psychoeducational assessments <p> Additional counselling, mental health and wellness, or other related training is considered an asset<p> A passion for supporting diverse learning and understanding of interventions and strategies that will assist with success in schools Duties & Responsibilities: Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.<p> Apply foundational knowledge about First Nations, Mtis and Inuit for the benefit of all students, and support the Divisions goals towards advancing Truth and Reconciliation<p> Familiar with the developmental, educational, emotional, social and recreational needs of children, youth and families<p> Experience with delivering programming and comfortable with leading professional development<p> Strong relationship-building skills<p> Effective time management skills<p> Takes initiative and is able to work independently as well as collaboratively in teams<p> Skill and knowledge of facilitation, positive communication and creative thinking<p> Solid comprehension and practice of personal and professional boundaries<p> Ability to develop supportive relationships with young people and parents/guardians<p> Creative problem-solving and- LocationSt. Albert, AB
