Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Odours. Dusty. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. On-site customer service. Maintenance. Repair. Commercial. Installation. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Select type of insulation required. Measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools. Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping and other application and installation methods. Fit insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs. Fabricate and apply removable insulation pads and covers. Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Measure distance, volume, length and weight. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License. Types of systems: Underground conduits and piping. Steam and condensate process lines. Vessels and boilers. Compressors. Towers and heat exchangers. Plumbing, cold water and drain lines. Ventilation and exhaust. Stacks and furnace flues. Hot water system and equipment. Specialization or experience: Sheeting and cladding. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication and layout. Cladding. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Manual dexterity. Overtime required.
