For the duration of the 2024-2025 school year this role will include courses in Career Education, PHE, English, and Community Connections (BAA), as well as internal coverage responsibilities. This could extend into a continuing role in the Senior School beyond June 2025. Please indicate recent professional development and extracurricular experience you possess as part of your candidacy for this position.Responsibilities of an Urban Academy Teacher: <p> Planning, implementation and assessment: Bring a student-centred, inquiry-based, and collaborative approach to the delivery of the B.C. curriculum utilizing competency-based assessment and instruction as well as strong formative and summative assessment strategies <p> Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers in the Senior School to plan, develop, and implement an extraordinary learning experience for each individual student <p> Pluralism: Demonstrate commitment to culturally sustaining teaching practices: infuse diverse voices and perspectives in the planning and delivery of learning experiences, including Indigenous, local, and global world views. <p> SEL: Build relationships with teachers and staff across the school community <p> Student Life: Be an active and positive participant in the co-curricular program and Senior School Advisory program <p> Communication: Communicate consistently and professionally with students, parents, faculty and other stakeholders about student needs and growth. <p>
