Logistics Coordinator ? Day shift position
\*Covering for Maternity Leave - Start December/January 2025 (14 month contract)\*

*Job description: *
* Management of inbound and outbound traffic and transportation including negotiating freight costs and deliveries to enhance service levels while maintaining and reducing cost.
* Coordinate with dispatch to trace freight and overcome any potential obstacles to ensure smooth completion of each move.
* Promptly advise clients of changes and impending service issues/ developments. Keep detailed notes
* Conduct regular reviews of customer rates and business volume to make suggestions to customers on how to lower cost to customer while increasing company profit margin.
* Evaluate carriers for performance and conduct background checks to ensure we are partnering with quality service providers. Maintain carrier files.
* Developed operating procedures and tools that streamline workload and amplify
Productivity.
* Record keeping and documentation
* Processing, investigating and settling claims while working unbiased with both claimant and carrier.
* Develop connections and leads that can be passed along and built upon to create new business opportunities.
* Provide after hours support as needed via company provided cellphone and email access. (example: after hours border crossing issues)
Qualifications:
* Prior experience in freight management. Minimum 2 years
* Salary/Hourly pay based on experience
* Knowledge of industry freight pricing. Skid rates, LTL fuel rates, CN carbon.
* Familiarity with A1transport(HighJump)/ Load link software is an asset
* Strong attention to detail and computer skills
* Demonstrated ability to work without supervisions
* Shows initiative and willingness to work as a team player
* Strong communication, computer, mathematical and problem-solving skills
