*Position: Seasonal Retail Sales Associate* _Part Time _ _Full Time and Key Holder ? Fixed Term Contract_ Available Shifts: Evenings, Day Shifts, Weekends, Holidays. 365 day/ 7days a week operation. Candidates must be available for morning shifts (4 am start) as well as midday and evening shifts (10 pm close) on both weekdays and weekends. Please indicate your preferred shifts on your application. *About Third+Bird:* Third+Bird is Winnipeg?s largest urban market, championing small businesses for over 16 years through markets, pop-ups, and collaborative events. We are now opening a retail store at the Winnipeg Airport to connect shoppers and makers, offering primarily Manitoban goods alongside select wholesale items. Join us and be a part of this exciting new venture! *Position Overview:* As a Seasonal Retail Sales Associate, you will provide exceptional customer service, ensure a visually appealing storefront, and contribute to the smooth operation of the store. This position requires both a customer-focused attitude and the ability to independently manage the store alone. *Key Responsibilities:* * Greet and assist customers with their shopping experience in a fast-paced, service-oriented retail environment. * Provide product recommendations based on customer needs, with a commitment to learning about the products and their makers. * Handle customer concerns with professionalism and care. * Open and close the store, including balancing the till and securing cash in the safe. * Perform cashier duties, including accurate cash handling, processing transactions, and cashing out at the end of the shift. * Maintain a neat, clean, and organized store environment. * Stocking shelves, unpacking boxes, lifting boxes. * Efficiently process incoming products, ensuring they are tagged and stocked correctly. * Follow company policies, including cash handling, loss prevention, and compliance with store procedures. *Position Qualifications:* * High school diploma or equivalent. * Minimum one year of retail experience preferred. * Flexibility in availability, as the store operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year (including all holidays). * Strong communication skills in English, with an outgoing, friendly personality that enjoys customer interaction. Bilingual an asset but not mandatory. * Ability to work independently and as a self-starter, especially when running the store solo. * Experience using POS systems, preferably Shopify. * Reliable and punctual, with the ability to manage responsibilities such as balancing the till and handling cash. * Capable of standing for long periods and performing light lifting up to 30lbs when necessary. * Must pass a detailed background check conducted by the airport, which includes obtaining RAIC (Restricted Area Identification Card). *Compensation:* * Starting at *$17.50 per hour* with opportunities for growth. *Additional Responsibilities:* * Open the store, set up for the day, and balance the till. * Perform end-of-shift duties, including closing out the till and safely depositing cash in the safe. * Maintain a clean and organized workspace. * Ensure stock is efficiently tagged and displayed in line with the store?s standards. *Dress Code:* * Casual, neat, and appropriate for retail. Staff should maintain good personal hygiene and a clean appearance. * 3 branded T-shirts and 2 sweatshirts will be provided, with additional items available for purchase. Staff are required to wear either the provided branded clothing or merchandise sold in the store.
