Manager of Information Systems(Exempt)Competition #2024-46 The District of Kent, located in the picturesque Eastern Fraser Valley, is offering an exciting opportunity in our Corporate Services Department for a Manager of Information Systems. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services and the CAO, the Manager of Information Systems is accountable for the achievement of required project outcomes as well as the day-to-day operations. This is a service-oriented position that oversees all Information Technology (IT) functions including Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Key responsibilities associated with this role include:Leads and manages staff and various contractors and consultants. Responsible for overseeing corporate-wide technical services to support the District?s day-to-day operations and activities, including data integrity and security, and user access and permissions. Manages service contracts to ensure that technical support levels are met or exceeded. Acts as the Project Lead for the corporate business continuity plan. Accountable for Information Services budget expenditures and making recommendations for capital and operating budgets based on the development of annual workplans. Develops the District?s risk management framework in relation to IT security, develops the IT security standards and procedures, and oversees the cyber security training program. Achieves departmental and organizational goals and objectives through metrics used to track IT efficiencies with software/hardware, delivery of services, cost control, technological values and opportunity. The ideal candidate will possess:A bachelor?s degree in computer science, geomatics or related discipline. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Relevant certifications in project management, business analysis and change management (CAPM, PMP, CCP, PBA, etc.) are assets. A minimum of seven (7) years in a directly related role preferably in a local government setting with direct enterprise technology project management experience including business case development and technology procurement, plus at least three years in a supervisory position. This exempt management position offers a competitive salary (ranging from $85,000 - $95,000) commensurate with qualifications and experience, supplemented by a comprehensive benefits package and participation in the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP).
