Posting Number: T24-393<p>Date Issued: October 31, 2024POSITION <p>Worksite: Robertson Elementary School<p>Contract Type: Temporary, Part-Time (20% - Thursdays)<p>Assignment Area(s): Preparation Teacher Physical Education <p>Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)<p>Effective Date: Immediately until not later than June 30, 2025<p>Please Note: The assignment within this position may not be identical to the assignment as indicated in this posting.<p>Deadline for Applications: Friday, November 8, 2024 12:00 pmElectronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of two (2) current supervisors who can comment on your teaching.Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: <p>extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment <p>knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment <p>Preference given to candidates with a Human Kinetics Degree or equivalent required human kinetics including a PE teaching area <p>preference given to candidates with course work at the 300/400 level in the following areas: Dance, Gymnastics, Outdoor Pursuits, Motor Development and Physical Maturation, Strength and Conditioning Training, Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training and Sports Injuries, Instructional Analysis and Design in Physical Education Programs, Health Promotion and Physical Activity <p>strong commitment to excellence in teaching and demonstrated successful experience in teaching all components of a well-rounded, balanced, and effective Physical Education program at the elementary level including Dance, Gymnastics, and Outdoor Pursuits<p>proven experience and demonstrated commitment to using a variety of fitness tools/assessments and developing individualized fitness goals to enhance student fitness levels and promote the enjoyment of fitness<p>ability to design and implement a variety of assessment practices in Physical Education to measure and monitor student progress effectively<p>proven ability to analyse student performance data to improve the schools PE program<p>demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of child physical and social/emotional development and enthusiasm for working, and developing positive relationships, with elementary-aged children<p>demonstrated ability to incorporate a wide range of effective classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and proactively resolve discipline problems and still maintain the dignity of young learners<p>evidence of personal initiative and strong work ethic with a proven ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member<p>excellent communication skills with parents, students, and other staff <p>demonstrated experience with collaboration, shared decision-making, and leadership to foster positive student and staff relationships that builds school culture. <p>commitment to supporting EBS and school-wide initiatives such as 6 Cedars, Virtues Project, RTI <p>commitment to working with colleagues in an open, accepting manner to promote a strong and caring professional learning community<p>must have a current First-Aid and CPR certificate For Further Information Contact: Janine McCurdy, Principal or Troy Gibbs, Vice-Principal (604) 795-5312- LocationChilliwack, BC
