*POSITION SUMMARY:* Reporting to the Heavy Equipment Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a motivated individual with the flexibility to work in indoor and outdoor conditions at each of our sawmills as well as at our Base Camp and support our road building and logging operations. *RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Repair, adjust, and maintain heavy equipment including Excavators, Loaders, Skidders and Feller Bunchers * Test equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets regulatory requirements * Clean, lubricate machinery and perform other routine maintenance * Performs all tasks in accordance with established Safe Work Practices and Standard Operating Procedures * Other duties as assigned *QUALIFICATIONS:* * Heavy equipment repair experience, including trouble-shooting newer equipment with computer controls emissions systems, et. * small engine repair experience * Positive attitude * Safety conscious * Strong work ethic * Self-motivated with strong organizational skills * Strong communication and problem-solving skills * Flexibility to work overtime as required * Valid Driver?s License *SUPERVISION:* This position does not Supervise staff *FINANCIAL:* This position has some financial management responsibilities. *TRAVEL:* This position requires travel within the region and to our other sawmills in Huntsville, South River and other locations in Central Ontario. *HOURS OF WORK:* This position requires a flexible 40-hour work week, but the normal work hours are generally 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. *COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & PERKS:* * Permanent full time * Compensation will be determined based skills and experience * 2 weeks' vacation * Benefits ? flexible health spending account after probation * Recreational access to the Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Additional pay: * Overtime pay Benefits: * Extended health care Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Day shift Application question(s): * Do you live in Haliburton or the surrounding area? * What mechanical licenses do you have (i.e 421A, 310S, 310T) * How many years of heavy equipment mechanical experience do you have?
