LATE FRENCH IMMERSION TEACHER - Intermediate Grade 7 (1.0 FTE) <p>Effective: Immediately <p> **Successful Candidate is eligible for continuing status in April 2025 if the incumbent works the remaining duration of the 2024/2025 school year** <p><p><p> The Burnaby School District is on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Nations of Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish. <p> <p><p> The Burnaby School District is the fourth largest in BC. The District operates 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, including a range of district and provincial resource programs. The District supports and provides learning to 25,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) students and to more than 6,000 adult learners through our established Burnaby Community & Continuing Education program. Employees are supported throughout their careers to engage in professional development opportunities by encouraging learning on assigned professional development days and providing professional development workshops. <p> <p><p><p> <p> Burnaby School District invites applications from qualified teachers for this Full time (1.0) Late French Immersion Teacher position. <p><p><p> Required Qualifications: <p> <p><p><p> Valid BC Teaching Certificate<p> Bachelor of Education degree or academic equivalent<p> Demonstrated fluency and facility (both oral and written) in French and English<p> French Immersion methodology course<p> Major program concentration in the relevant area of primary or intermediate education including primary or intermediate methodology courses<p> Knowledge of a broad range of effective instructional strategies in order to meet the diverse needs of all students<p> <p> Knowledge of consultative and collaborative strategies<p> Practicum reports and/or teacher evaluations (if available)<p> <p> Successful completion of Criminal Records Search as carried out through the Ministry of Education Teachers?
