• Trade Incentives: Senior Trade Compliance Officers determine an importers eligibility to participate in the Duty Deferral Programs. Officers verify business tracking systems, financial records and sales reports to verify that imported goods were subsequently exported or destroyed according to Duty Drawback and Duties Relief program requirements. This type of verification may require an on-site visit, both in Canada or abroad.• Origin: Senior Trade Compliance Officers determine the origin and applicable tariff treatment for goods imported into and exported from Canada, according to rules set in place by various free trade agreements in force and the Customs Tariff. Officers verify production processes and costs attached to the manufacture of goods. Accounting knowledge is an asset.
