Job Description* We are looking to fill an anticipated January 2025 opening for a Social Media Coordinator to work exclusively on upcoming projects for one of our major clients. Reporting to the DocDoctor Editor-in-Chief, the Social Media Coordinator will work from home/ remotely to produce engaging, high quality social media content, posts, and ads across multiple digital platforms. A personal interest in providing high-quality client services is a must. This is a friendly, collaborative position as part of a tight-knit group of dedicated staff. This position includes, but is not limited to, the following core tasks: · Working across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok primarily, in addition to X, Threads, and other platforms as may be identified; · Contributing to the creation of digital content for Google Ads and other marketing initiatives; · Assisting in-house staff with the completion of special projects and other duties, as may be assigned. *3. Requirements* · *Experience*: previous employment experience in social media content development is an asset. Candidates without employment experience in a similar role and who have strong personal social media experience and/or proficiency can also apply. Candidates are encouraged to provide any links to public profiles and/ or portfolios of work as part of their application if they are relying on such experience to satisfy this criteria. · *Education:* a college diploma or university degree is preferred, however, current students with a strong academic background, willingness to learn, and who are currently completing their studies and have adequate availability may also be considered. · *Languages*: this position requires a strong command of the English language and native English proficiency. The ability to communicate in French is not required, however, bilingualism is an asset. · *Location*: this is a work-from-home/ remote opportunity, however, . At times, our team meets in person for training, operations meeting, and team events. _Applications from candidates outside of the Greater Ottawa Area will not be considered. _ · *Technical Aptitudes*: assets include experience in social media use/ marketing/ ads across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and X (among others), SEO, graphic design/ creative content development, website development, and digital marketing/ advertising. · *Availability*: the successful candidate must be regularly available by e-mail/ phone and able to respond to time-sensitive inquiries and requests in a prompt manner. Business hours are 9:30am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday, however this role may be performed outside of hours (depending on the successful candidate?s availability) so long as major deliverables as met. Checking and responding to e-mails promptly and on a regular, daily basis is a basic expectation of this role. · _*Additional Requirements: *_ basic proficiency with e-mail writing and the use of Microsoft Office and MacOS is required. Access to a computer, smartphone, and reliable internet/ data connection are also required. *4. Wages & Hours of Work* The successful candidate will work from home/ remotely at a rate within a range of $20.00- $24.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. The role initially will be classified as a part-time opening, with the possibility of converting to a full-time contract following an initial probationary period of 90 days.
