*VAC Developments* is a growing Canadian Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Company located in Oakville. We are currently looking to hire *Assistant Buyer* to join our purchasing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, services, and equipment to meet required delivery dates and keep our material at a competitive level. *RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Assist Senior Buyer with supplier recovery schedules to meet organization?s demand requirements. * Verifies raw materials and outside processors meet customer requirements. Issues Requests for Quotes to selected vendors with appropriate drawings. * Reviews quotes to determine which vendor has competitive prices and competitive lead items. * Obtains approval of purchase order prior to release of purchase order. Monitors vendor quality and on time delivery. * Maintains Approved Vendor List. * Schedule pickups and deliveries. *EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:* * Minimum 2 years? experience in a *manufacturing procurement role buyer,* procurement specialist, supply chain, etc. Purchasing certification preferred or a combination experience and education is acceptable. * Intermediate knowledge and experience using MS Office (Excel. Word). * Purchasing certification is preferred along with strong analytical & aerospace industry knowledge skills. * Knowledge of negotiation strategies and skills as well as conflict resolution and/or mediation skills needed. * Keen attention to detail required. * Understanding of import/export processes including Canadian Controlled Goods Program and ITAR an asset.
