Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Wood products manufacturer. Furniture manufacturing company. Tasks: Set up, program and operate one or more computerized or manual woodworking machines. Operate preset special purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools. Read blueprints and drawings. Program CNC machine tools. Equipment and machinery experience: Computerized woodworking machine. Routers. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
