Qualifications: Applicants must be eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador; the criteria for licensure are outlined on the CPSNL website (www.cpsnl.ca).Applicants must satisfy credentialing requirements for Labrador-Grenfell Zone.Earned Medical Degree.Work experience is an asset.A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance.A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority. Duties: (Included but not limited to) The physician will be responsible for performing and supervising surgical proceduresProvision of Inpatient and Outpatient careConsultant with other physiciansThis position may require travel to other LGH sites to support regional General Surgery servicesTele-health.Coverage of on call commitments for General Surgery, including weekends and holidays.The successful candidate will work as a part of a Team of physicians and nurses to provide the required services identified above.The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
