In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils, and shortenings for the industrial, retail and foodservice markets. Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility.  We currently have an opportunity for a Assistant Shift Engineer (3rd Class Power Engineer) at our Yorkton - Oilseed location. The Assistant Shift Engineer (3rd Class Power Engineer) will assist the Shift Engineer with operation of the Process Boilers, Steam Distribution and Condensate Return System, the Ammonia Refrigeration System, the Compressed Air System and the Fire Protection System. Responsibilities:Assist in the operation of the Deodorization process and hourly Deodorized oil testingResponsible for operation of the Waste Water treatment plantPerforms annual turnaround maintenance on the equipment that we operateAct as primary control panel operator for the Utility systems and DeodorizingOperate Ammonia Refrigeration EquipmentOperate Cooling water systemOperating and monitoring all process parametersTroubleshooting any process upsetsFilter changes as required on feed and discharge of deodorizingOperate High Pressure Steam Generator and respond to any upset conditionsMonitoring finished oil quality and responding as required to upset conditionsMaintain operational log sheets and perform finished oil quality testing as requiredUnderstand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rulesOther duties as assigned Qualifications:Grade 12 or equivalent plus a 3rd Class Power Engineer license or 4th Class working towards their 3rd Class licenseMinimum 2 years’ experience in Boiler and Cooling water system operation and Process operation experienceAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formAbility to multi-taskGood practical knowledge of all branches of engineeringGood knowledge of the plant process and related equipment Richardson International provides an excellent compensation package consisting of competitive salary, pension, a flexible benefits plan and training and career development opportunities. Interested candidates should click the APPLY TO THIS POSITION icon to apply online by November 28, 2024. Richardson International values diversity in the workplace.
