<p>SUMMARY OF THE POSITION<br>Person who designs, updates, analyzes and implements training programs for staff. Coordinates internship programs in the establishment.</p><p>SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS <br>The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) is implementing a program to train Eeyou-Eenou midwives that integrates traditional and cultural knowledge. </p><p>The incumbent works in close partnership with the midwifery education program (EIPC) team to integrate the cultural and community components into all aspects of program design, development, implementation and evaluation. This includes training activities internal and external to the CBHSSJB. Links with Elders, Knowledge keepers and community resources for mentorship and community health education activities. Contributes in the daily coordination and mentorship of the chiskutimwaakanch, (Trainees) and their mentors;</p><p>Under the supervision of the Director, Programs Development and Support, and in collaboration with the Head of Midwifery Services, the Coordinator of Birth Home, and the Planning, Programming and Research Officer for the Midwifery Education Program, the incumbent will: </p><ol><li><p>Contribute to Program curriculum development:<br>o Advise the team on cultural and community best practices for all aspects of curriculum development and implementation;<br>o Continuously develop cultural competencies and skills for the EIPC curriculum;<br>o Chair Waapimausuuwin Working Group meetings as needed;<br>o Co-chair EIPC Advisory Group meetings as needed;<br>o Attend Midwifery Services-EIPC planning meetings;<br>o Participate in the expansion of the EIPC regionally;<br>o Contribute to the development of learning materials related to traditional and cultural learning, including language;<br>o Establish and grow relationships with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, cultural departments and community organizations and resources;<br>o Develop tools to evaluate the cultural components of the EIPC and its trainees and mentors;<br>o Contribute to the quality assurance processes of the EIPC as it relates to cultural safety and the integration of traditional and cultural knowledge and values;<br>o Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, guidelines and procedures for EIPC and client care that reflect Eeyou-Eenou values and community consultations. </p></li><li><p>Contribute to cultural mentorship, supervision and support for the chiskuitmwaakanch (Trainees)<br>o Contribute to the joint-planning and coordination of structured learning activities, in order to facilitate and fully integrate cultural components;<br>o Link trainees and mentors with Elders, Knowledge Keepers and cultural organizations and community groups;<br>o Work with Elders, community groups and the Department of Nishiiyuu to coordinate and facilitate culture-based learning and community outreach activities with the trainees;<br>o Support the integration of Elders into the mentorship process;<br>o Supervise trainees in their culture-based learning, including fully participating in their learning plans, assessments and evaluations;<br>o Directly teach trainees how to integrate cultural knowledge into client care;<br>o Provide general support for trainees, including conflict resolution.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to mentors training and support<br>o Contribute to the direct training and support of mentors, ensuring cultural safety in the mentorship of trainees;<br>o Contribute to the evaluation of mentors;<br>o Attend mentor check-ins and training workshops with Innulitsivik Health Center's Midwifery Services, the National Council of Indigenous Midwives and Consultants;<br>o Liaise between Midwifery Services and the EIPC.</p></li></ol><p>REQUIREMENTS</p><p>Education: * Bachelor degree in education, social sciences or another appropriate discipline. <br>Master's degree is an asset.</p><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>Three (3) years of relevant experience in training, teaching or kn
