Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Heavy machinery manufacturing. Machinery manufacturer. Metal product fabrication industry. Sheet metal shop. Tasks: Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Brakes. Punch presses. Shears. Soldering or welding equipment. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Bending. Cutting machine. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods.
