Under the general direction of the Youth and Recreation Manager the Youth/Recreation Leader is primarily responsible for assisting in the overall coordination, delivery and operation of all youth and recreation programs and activities.Want to know more? You will?Promote a positive atmosphere for community youth by demonstrating strong role model and leadership qualities Build strong relationships with WFN community and youth aged 12-18yrs to increase awareness of Youth Centre activities, and Recreation activities for community 0-100yrs. Work with other department to promote activities that are relevant to youth, including life skills training, resume writing, and recreational activities and other community activities including but not limited to dances, dinners, cultural events under the supervision of the Youth and Recreation Manager Assist with planning, organizing and leading comprehensive youth and recreation programs and related activities including special events, special interest classes, summer programs and cultural programs for all segments of the community that focus on youth Assist in creating department presentations Assist in the assessment of community needs as they relate to youth issues and assist with developing programs accordingly Ensure that Youth Centre equipment and facilities are safe, properly prepared, maintained and cleaned regularly as required for use by program participants and staff Must Haves:Acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search Valid Class 5 driver?s license with acceptable drivers abstract and own, reliable transportation Valid First Aid with Child CPR Perks of Working at WFN:Competitive compensation package Extended Health Care (including Vision and Paramedical Services), Dental, Basic Life Insurance, Employee Assistance Program, and Health Spending Account Municipal Pension Plan membership Access to Big White Season Passes (Summer & Winter) Employee Recognition Program Access to LinkedIn Learning for Professional DevelopmentThe median hourly wage for this position is $29.86.Application Details:To review the full job description and to learn more about Westbank First Nation please visit our website at https://www.wfn.ca.All applications must be submitted through our Employment Opportunities page.
