Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Hot. Work setting: On-site customer service. Food service establishment. Tasks: Operate cash register. Process money, cheques and credit/debit card payments. Tabulate total payment for goods or services required. Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales. Stock shelves and clean counter area. Greet customers. Accept reservations or take-out orders. Provide customer service. Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products. Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food. Supervise and check assembly of trays. Prepare food order summaries for chef. Prepare and submit reports. Prepare budget and cost estimates. Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage. Establish methods to meet work schedules. Establish work schedules. Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation . Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards. Must have knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres.
