*EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY ? SUMMER LAW STUDENT (1L or 2L) * *UNIFIED LLP PROPERTY & COMMERCE DEPARTMENT - WATERLOO REGION OFFICE* Unified LLP is looking to hire a Summer Law Student to join its Waterloo Region office located in the heart of Downtown Kitchener for the summer of 2025. Candidates that have successfully completed a first or second year of a JD program are invited to apply. Please note that this is a 100% in-person position at our office. This is a position involving litigation, advisory, and transactional matters in the property law and commercial spheres. You will gain exposure to particularly ?niche? areas of property law including expropriation, land use planning and construction-related matters. You will also assist with and gain exposure to law firm processes and file management. In the property law realm, you will assist with land use planning, expropriation, real estate litigation and development advisory matters (in the application phase), and files before the OLT, TLAB and Superior Court of Justice. You may also assist in commercial lease and real estate transactions for our building/development clientele, referrals, and union members. In the commercial realm, you may assist with a variety of disputes including shareholder and contractual matters, construction litigation, injunctions, etc. Our firm is also retained to provide general commercial advice and to close asset and share purchase transactions. We are retained to draft various types of commercial agreements with a view to reducing litigation risk. Excellent written and oral communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively both individually and with others are required.
