Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Prepare tenders and quotations. Instruct apprentices. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Schedule personnel, tools and equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing. Estimate costs and materials. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Green job: Involves duties and responsibilities that lead to positive environmental outcomes. Support for newcomers and refugees: Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) .
