We have the perfect opportunity for you!POSITION OVERVIEW:Join the City of Maple Ridge as a Labourer within our dedicated Sewerworks Division! This role involves engaging, hands-on maintenance and construction work that offers variety and complexity, where you'll take on skilled and semi-skilled tasks essential to the upkeep of our community?s infrastructure. As a Labourer, you?ll tackle projects that may involve specialized skills and occasionally require navigating hazardous conditions. Working under the guidance of various supervisors, you?ll contribute to a team that values safety, skill, and service excellence. If you?re ready to make an impact in a role that keeps our city running smoothly, we?d love to hear from you!EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEConsiderable experience in civil construction and Municipal maintenance work. Some training and knowledge in the operation of small power equipment such as saws and rollers.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESConsiderable knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and materials used in civil construction and Municipal Maintenance work. Must have the ability to understand, carry-out and effectively communicate to fellow employees, oral and written instructions from a supervisor. Considerable skill in the proper and safe use of a variety of hand and power tools related to the work. Ability to keep simple records of the work performed. Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform heavy manual outdoor work in all weather conditions. Ability to respond to after hours emergencies. Must show independence of judgment in the performance of duties and work with a minimum of supervision. Knowledge of and ability to operate small riding and hand mowers, small rollers, a variety of power saws, jack hammers, weed and oil sprayers, vibrators and concrete mixer and drive light duty trucks.LICENCES AND CERTIFICATESClass 5 Driver?s Licence valid in the Province of British Columbia. Possession of a valid B.C.
